On The Meaning of Time & How One Can Become Accostomed To Anything

Memory, as the brillant and gifted writer, Marcel Proust, declared in his most prolific of all novels, In Search of Lost Time, can be the a great blessing, on the one and, and a terrible curse, on the other. When we re-create our own lives through memory, or imagination, when faced with the passage of time, is the most unforgiving of fires, and at times, no matter how one tries, he/she cannot save it all. But the ability for an event to dissolve or evaportate through time, may be a way in which one can heal old wounds, or erase that which plagues the mind, and at the same time, it can preserve those very pleasures and joys that one does not ever want to disappear.

The passage of time, one is told, can allow us to heal, to move forward, or face the world through a new set of lenses. That being said, time can also serve to allow an individual, who must learn to live with pain or unpleasantness, allow one to go forward. In other words, in the end, we can get used to anything.

What is most important, at least it seems, is to move forward, no matter what. Staying stuck in one place, with one thought, does not allow growth really. Although one may accept something, it can still be painful, but the point remains that so long as we move, even if the steps are as quite small, we are heading in the right direction.

I needed to write today. These words may make sense to no-one (assuming anyone is reading them), but being able to write, for me, is transformative, and a form of art that helps me to grow appreciate the moment, and move into that space of peace.

Thank you for your minds.

A Heartfelt Note of Sincere Thank You

First of all, let me say thank you to so many of you who have sent me emails, posts, or even called with your good thoughts, prayers and concerns. I am very thankful for your kind words and messages of support have been a great comfort to me.

There has been a crisis that has occurred within the last couple of months leaving our family in a state of fear and uncertainty. No one has died, thank G-d, but live is indeed in session, and our family has been forced to face difficult, unresolved and complicated issues. It is true that I am being somewhat cryptic, but I am unable to write about what is happening yet, as the issue is too painful and personal to share.

That being said, I continue to be a person of great faith, and in fact, these days, I have had to rely even more on G-d than ever before and trust in His ability to protect, safeguard and take care of everyone and everything in the world today. No human being is immune from life's pains, and it is truly the manner in which we deal with it, and the people who make themselves available to us during times of joy and times of sorrow that can make the difference between a giant leap forward and a small step in that direction as well.

Thank you again, truly, for all your kindness and thoughts.

Each day, one is given the opportunity to start and begin anew. I begin each day by being thankful to G-d for restoring my soul to me with compassion.

Thank you for your minds.
