A Night Without Dreaming
Another sleepless night brings me to the comfort of my blog which has become like a lasting friend or a embraceful lover. Being able to write illuminates my soul, and comforts the heart, especially in the still of the night. Often, the words themselves can serve as tools to quiet the mind and make the heart peaceful.
Whenver our daughter has finals, as she does now, since she is going to summer school, she tends to stay up all night. Her schedule is thrown off by anxiety and stress, and during finals week, it is not uncommon for her to stay up all night and sleep during the day. We have an understanding that I am here for her 24/7, no matter what. As I have written, she was ill five months ago, and it is surprising that she is back at school so quickly. Sometimes there is a great need to anchor her, and provide her with the words that will give her strength and motivation to make it through the day. Like her, I become scared, and fear of re-occuring illness courses through my veins like the flow of blood, but in a much more visable, often painful way. But who among us does not experience fear, especially when it involves our children, our most prescious gifts? But our fear does not do them, or us, for that matter any real good.
I must remind myself that each good day is a great gift. I shall remember to thank God for all the good days, and not take anything for granted ever. Life is so fragile, and the health of a person can change in the flash of a mili-second. Being thankful cannot be understated.
My children are my life. Fear is a reminder, in some ways, that I must not take anything for granted, and always be grateful for everything that God gives to me.
Today, I am grateful that my daughter can call me, even it results in an interuption of my own sleep schedule, and that I can be there for her unconditionally, waiting with loving arms and panting breathe.
Thank you for your minds.

You are a good mum, Barbara.
I remember when I was studying for exams, and my mother came into my room, at 3am, and asked if there was anything she could do to help.
I always knew that if I was working into the night, that she would just appear with a cup of tea for me, and offers of moral support and assistance.
Just knowing she was there for me was always so reassuring and comforting.
I often think back to those times, and cherish the moments.
Seems fear is the unwelcome topic of the day! Both Dave and I both posted on the same subject. Prayers and serenity all around, and in heavy doses.
I definitely understand your post in more ways than one. I love my children more than life itself. My daughter is so precious as I know you feel about yours. Is it not amazing how we would do anything for them. I thank GOD everyday and we have so much to be thankful for.
I appreciate you visiting me and commenting more than you know. NJ is a special friend and very happy you came over from his site.
