Carl Rove Caught with his Pants Down: Should he be Fired or Indicted?

In a surreal move that makes the happenings of the Bush administration reminiscent of George Orwell's amazing book, 1984, it has been discovered that Carl Rove was definitely behind the leak in the name of the CIA agent last year. Here is the story: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/07/12/politics/12cnd-rove.html?hp&ex=1121227200&amp
5094&partner=homepage. The Bush administration, in its typical, let's us not talk about it and it will go away attitude, is remaining stoic, saying little, and wishing, like some magic wand from Harry Hudini's bag of tricks, that this entire issue would just disappear. Think about it: Abu Ghraub, The Iraq War, The Downing Street Memo, The death of Pat Tillman, and more, just seem to loose momentum with this administration and its ability to play hide and stay hidden.

If any one of these things would have happened during the Clinton years, there would have been investigation after investigation and calls for heads on a wooden platter. Just remember how Rove was behind the messages dealing with Kerry's military service? The double standards and the shameful conduct of this administration to play hide the ball is simply despicable. Remember, Clinton was IMPEACHED for lying about sex under oath. The Clintons's were subjected to years of investigation of Whitewater. Just look at what has been going on with this administration, and what is the result?

Here is the question of the day: Should Carl Rove be fired? Should there be criminal charges brought against him for these leaks regarding the CIA story? Are the leaks tantamount to treasonous behavior?

On a side note, and definitely provocative in nature, I must ask this question as well: Now that Rove has his pants down, how many think he has a tiny penis?

I hope that everyone has had the opportunity to read the post below, and will be respectful about the boundaries of my blog.

Thank you for your minds.

I do not think that Bush or Fox News can make this go away. Even after the Aurba story, a hurricane, a run away bride, AND the Jackson trial this story is still here.

Nobody forgot about it. Nobody is distracted.

Anyway, Bush is already on record as saying he would fire any white house source that leaked. So if Darth Rove leaked....we will have to see what Bush does.

At this point, there is no way to prevent an investigation. And should this investigation point to Hot Karl (look it up on urbandictionary.com), he should be both indicted AND fired.

But my prediction stands. He will not get canned or indicted. They will find a patsy to take the fall. Remember Oliver North?

Nothing is new under the sun.

He most certainly has a tiny penis, but thanks to Cialis, it's rock-hard 24/7.

In all seriousness, I'm not going to weigh in on the Rove issue specifically, but a broader issue you raise re: the administration and especially the President, that of refusing to admit to mistakes for fear of being labelled weak or wrong. Sigh. I'm tired of it, the people I know who voted for the guy are tired of it, even the writers at The Economist (ordinarily right-leaning but not for the past few years) are tired of it.

I knew a guy like this in real life. He was the graduate director of my doctoral program. He would make claims (e.g., you need nine 900-level seminar CLASSES to graduate) and refused to back down even when someone brought out the curriculum guidelines showing that you needed nine 900-level CREDITS to graduate. He'd go, "That's what I said, CREDITS." No, we'd say, you said CLASSES. "NO." *threatening glare* "I SAID CREDITS." He could NOT be wrong. He never apologized. He was scary and narcissistic. And, naturally, none of us put any stock in anything he said because we realized it could be bullshit and he would never admit to it.

My feelings toward the Prez and his posse are similar to my feelings toward Mr. Narcissist. There's simply no trust. :-(

ROTFL..Winterwheat has the ability to make me laugh until I drop...Rock hard 24/7...I had not even thought about that possibility!

Yes the lack of trust is a big issue. And iguana, Bush can say anything he wants, as we know, and it does not mean he will follow through with it, i.e. just because he said he would fire anyone who was caught leaking does not mean he will do it. I have zero faith in the man who claims to be full of faith of the highest kind.

Yep, tiny. Rock hard? Ewww...I don't want to swim in that end of the pool.

If Rove really did leak Plame's name merely as vengence and for political gain then he needs to do prison time.

I'm afraid that Iguana might be correct and the administration may find a way to spin this in some other direction and come up with some Oliver North type character. From what I've read, Fitzgerald is being very careful to corroborate all the evidence and is being painstakingly thorough in his investigation. This would lead me to believe that he too is afraid they might put someone out to hang and he wants to have a rock solid case against those involved.

It will be interesting.

Ha ha, Barbara! I like the size question, especially. And geez, I don't wanna know! That image is now in my mind and I'm not sure how I'm going to fall asleep tonight. ICK.

As Bush said, the person should be held accountable and fired. It seems perfectly clear to me, but then I cannot figure out what is going on in Bush's brain...not much. And of course I know that Bush can't be trusted. And don't forget, it's not patriotic to question our prez.

Oh, and as for your previous post, I support you for doing what you need to do! Of course, I do love how interactive this blog is, so I hope you don't let the actions of a few jerks get in the way of that. But I do understand your point, completely.

Thank you, Judah for visiting my blog.

I had to find some humor it what otherwise is such a sad story. I figured the tiny penis angle would make people laugh, but that really is not so funny either, as my husband is telling me, which reading this post!

Ew! And on the other hand, ew!

Barbara, email me regarding how to use hyperlinks in your blog. It's really easy and you can link with a single word instead of the whole address. It's what knocked your sidebar to the bottom of the page.

The latest spin on the Rove issue, is whether he in fact violated the law? Did he name a name, did Bush say he would fire anyone who violated the law, or leaked information?

Sounds like a defense from Clinton, when we question what the meaning of 'is' is, and sex. The only difference will be in the result.

As you know, I have little faith that this President will abide by his word, or do the right thing. I certainly hope Mr. Rove is indicted, and that a court of law decides the issue on the merits.

Thanks, Doug,

I will check it out.

Does the debate also include an opinion on Rove's penis size?
