And How Is Your Week?

Many may have noticed, that Women on the verge of thinking is not posting as regularly as in the past, nor visiting blogs as often as she would desire. The fact of the matter is that going back to work in court has restructured my life almost completely. Now, when I get up at 5:30 am., instead of 5 am, and go walk each morning. By the time I finish, it is time to get ready for work, and then, of course the hour plus commute. When I finish the work, there are phone calls to be answered, letters written, and other forms of work that come with the territory. Add the fact that briefs are still being written, coupled with the care of my daughter and husband, and the day is practically ended. Nevertheless, I am enjoying working in court again, and being around people, where I can hopefully make some difference.

It seems that the older one gets, the broader his/her perspective becomes. Patience is a quality that I have been learning over these past three years, and it is much more fine tuned now than ever before. Also, listening, and not speaking as much, or drawing conclusions too quickly are present as well.

My week has had its pitfalls, like everyone's, I am certain. If my posts are not as frequent, it is not for lack of desire or interest, but more because of time constraints.

Also, this week, I have been absorbed in listening to the Senate hearings of Sam Alito while communiting to and from work. They have been most interesting, and enlightening, and it is my opinion, from what I have heard, that he will more likely than not be confirmed to serve as a Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. This does not, of course imply my agreement or disagreement, just my belief.

So tell me, how is your week?

Hi Barbara! Sounds like things are going well... if busy.

My week was okay, except one of my kitties is sick.

I don't think my week has been quiet as busy as yours, but it has been busy. I am working to feel the pain of discipline instead the pain of regret, as my next to last post describes. Glad you are having so much fun working with the courts again. Hope your daughter is doing well.

I'll second the wish for your daughter being better.

I find that I have less patience as I get older for stupid stuff that shouldn't happen.

I'm still busy. I tried to clean up my "office" area at home over the holidays, and now I find it filling up with junk and mess again. aargh.

I went back to school this week. I talked to one of the deans about last semester and she said there was nothing she could do. I'm almost done with the paper on Universal Health Care that I'm writing.

last year was a year of change for me. so far each week this year is adjusting to fit. I am trying to get rid of some of the stress in my life. Trying to stay 'sane' or at lest the simblance of it. Thinking I should figure out how to make more money(maybe should read the blogger Ad, "MAKE MONEY NOW"?)
Dealing w/old friends dying.
TGIF, I think I'll go get drunk or stoned.
P.S. having a discussion about GOD my 'World of L.tart' come over & put your 2-cents in if you have time. :)

meh...same old same old.

Though, I'm anxious because I'm trying to break an undesireable habit I have. It's why my blogging has been harder for me to do lately. It takes a while for the words to flow.

Barbara, you have a busy life! You're lucky if your perspective can keep broadening as you get older. For some, I think it narrows. My week has been a fresh new start at school, with a course in consulting, which I'm quite excited about. It's great that you still get the chance to write once in awhile. Always happy to have your mind.

i kind of feel "connected" with the 3 years thing (since it's been 3 years for me too).

my week has been strange (good strange) -- i've been bumping into people i haven't seen in years (25 years, 12 years and 10 years) -- how weird, but nice (all happened this week)!

Well..
here is one lesson learned from this post.. dont move to Southern California if you dont want to commute for an hour.

But I do the same here in Miami. What a waste of time (commuting). Yesterday I stayed home and by 130pm I had done more than what I do at work by 6p.

The other thing we learn from this post is that if you are more open and candid that Alito.

I'm busy. I'm retired, but volunteer work takes a lot of my time. Unlike some people who work all day, when I'm on a volunteer job, I can't use a PC.

Hope things are going better with your daughter. You know I understand.

Interesting blog. I related to this entry as I too am at an age where things are finally settling down in my life. The world is still pretty much the same, but I guess I'm not. I heard someone once say that "if you're not more liberal when you're young, you don't have a heart and if you're not more conservative when older, you don't have a brain" - or words to that effect.

I guess that can be interpreted in a number of ways, but it is true that I have gained a more realistic view of life and although I am still idealistically libertarian, I temper it with a strong dose of reality. Consequently, my perspective, my expectations and my goals have changed.

And life (including my week) is better. Better than ever, really. I just do what I have to do day by day and let everything fall into place, wherever that might be. Instant gratification has never worked - or if it has, it only lasted for an instant. The journey is what it's all about. It's been quite a ride.

Well, the week has passed, and it was a good one. We had our talent show last night, and I was a judge. It was a hoot. Everyone had a great time.

Posts like the one you write are an asset to the blog world, and if they are less frequent so be it, as long as once in awhile you keep posting.
